The Deborah Whitfield Memorial Foundation is committed to serving families, seniors, children, and vulnerable individuals throughout San Diego County through direct outreach, essential resource support, and community-driven programs.
As a growing grassroots nonprofit organization, every donation, volunteer, sponsor, and community partnership helps us expand our impact and reach more individuals in need.
In 2024, we were able to provide toys to over 50 families during the holiday season, helping bring joy and relief to households experiencing financial hardship.
For many families, holiday assistance programs help reduce seasonal financial stress while ensuring children can experience the joy and excitement of the holidays.
In 2025, our holiday outreach expanded significantly. Through community support and donations, we were able to provide toys to over 150 families throughout San Diego County.
We were also able to donate:
30 fully decorated Christmas trees
Including lights and bulbs for families in need donated by our sponsors Home Depot.
Programs like these help create meaningful holiday memories for children and families who may otherwise go without seasonal support.
Thanksgiving turkey support
Community holiday outreach
Trunk-or-Treat events
In 2025, our mobile food pantry serviced approximately:
Through direct deliveries and community outreach, we helped provide:

Household necessities
Food insecurity continues to affect millions of Americans each year, including seniors, veterans, disabled individuals, and working families. Transportation barriers also prevent many vulnerable residents from accessing traditional food resources consistently.
Our mobile model allows us to bring assistance directly to individuals who may otherwise go without support.
In 2025, we distributed:
with school supplies and essential items for local students.
Our backpack program focuses not only on school supplies, but also on providing necessities such as socks and underwear — items that are consistently among the most requested and least donated for low-income students.
For 2026, we are projected to provide:
with the continued support of community partners, sponsors, and donors.
Community sponsorships allow us to:
Expand outreach programs
Increase food assistance capacity
Support more children during back-to-school season
Provide meaningful holiday support
Serve vulnerable populations with dignity and compassion
Every contribution directly supports real families within our local community.
As we continue growing, our mission remains centered on compassion, accessibility, and community care. We are grateful for every volunteer, donor, sponsor, and supporter helping us continue the legacy of Deborah Whitfield and Helen Marie Whitfield through service to others.
